West Point has a 50-Year Affiliation Program where by each class is connected to the class that graduated 50 years earlier. The Class of 1959 was the affiliated class of Steven's class. The last act of the affiliated class is to present the each graduating cadet with a pair of Second Lieutenant bars engraved "59-09". Here Steven receives his engraved bars.
